Our clients and prospects regularly ask what marketing method delivers the best ROI. Of course, this can be tough to answer without first discussing their goals — whether they are branding, research, website traffic, lead generation, etc. Once we’ve identified their goals, we reference what we’ve come to expect based on past and current program experience with similar clients. Sometimes we reference MarketingSherpa or MarketingProfs research.
However, we have seen firsthand that within the current economy things are shifting and have decided to reach out to our peers for further validation. This summer we are asking our clients, prospects and contacts to participate in a research project focused on determining how well a variety of marketing methods are delivering ROI in the current economy.
Our survey aims to gain outside opinions on the effectiveness of marketing methods ranging from Pay Per Click (PPC) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to Lead Nurture and Email to Social Media. What’s more, we also wish to validate, today, how budgets are being allocated across these methods, which social media sites have been most successful and which offer types are driving leads.
Once completed, we’ll be reporting data in aggregate and publishing our findings through our website, the next Nowspeed Network event and various other channels. Survey results will also be sent to all respondents when results have been compiled in late summer, early fall.
